What are some creative ways to tell parents about pregnancy?
I am almost entering my second trimester in the my first pregnancy, and, after our first ultrasound on the 17th, my husband and I are finally going to tell our parents we are pregnant. We are very excited about this, especially because it will be my Mom and Dad's first grandchild. We have been brainstorming special and creative ways about how to break the good news, and have decided to give my Mom and birthday card from " baby" , but we also wanted to come up with a special way to tell his parents ours will be the 6th grandchild and the rest of my family. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your answers
Teens: Someday, Do you want to become parents? + BQ?
I'm just now wanting to have a child. I'm 15, and that's not going to happen a long time from now but I would love to be a mom. I'm starting to even cry about it. A few years back my dad killed my mom, and it just makes me want to be a independent mom. Just me and my son daughter.BQ Do you believe in premarital sex?
Having a child at 17? Advice from teen parents?
I would love to have a child with my long term boyfriend, i come from a middle class family and combined, my parents earn more than 120,000 a year. I wouldn't rely on the government and my grandparent's own a spare house near where i live, so i could live there with the child and it's father. What would i lose? I don't think age matters with children, only maturity. Ps. I know ignorant people will tell me i'm stupid. I'm pretty sure i'd rather be " stupid" or " naive" than obnoxious to how other people are feeling
My friend's parents have been putting him through a daily routine?
A close friend of mine's parents the father in particular has always operated by this strict routine in which everything is timed and in order, especially during the weekdays on Mondays Fridays. Now this would be somewhat understandable if it only took place during the school year, but I have learned that they also keep him and his youngest sister busy with some extra routines during the summer as well. So they really don't have much of a summer vacation like everyone else. Because of this we can only hang out together on school days or some weekends.Anyway, his dad comes in their rooms waking them both up early at 4 in the morning rushing them hurry and get dressed to either go run laps, jog or walk around the tracks of this nearby park he takes them to. Throughout the rest of the day they are made to do inside and outside chores for an extended period of time, workout twice a day both at the local gym exercise equipment and at home push ups, sit ups and pull ups , take swimming lessons and several other activities that are too numerous to list all within a given time frame. Failure to complete these tasks within the set time limit results in the subtraction of minutes from their free hours. The rate at which they eat daily meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner are also timed and monitored. After dinner they both are made to take 5 min showers each before having turn in for bed at 8 00 sharp. One thing worth noting though is that they are at least allowed to take a break from this whole routine on weekends and just chill out .Still, am I the only one who thinks this is a bit unnecessary? Or maybe this type of stuff is the norm for some people and could have benefits in the long run?
Do your parents limit your time on the computer?
If so how much time are you allowed on, or are you only allowed on at certain times? My dad does. He only allows me on the computer when I need to use it for schoolwork. He doesn't know my friend gave me an old laptop and that I use it when he's not home and in my room when he is.
Admit it parents. Is there one or two shows that are you life saver?
I LOVED it 12pm on weekdays and then 4pm in teh afternoon. Yo Gabba Gabba is on and I get a hour then half hour later to get house work done while my son watches. It's the only one he likes. He's 11 months old and I don't care. So anyone else have there sent from heaven shows? No wrong answers here just hoping I'm not a bad parent for letting him watch so I can get something done without worrying too much where he is and what he's doing.
Are my parents being completely unreasonable?
Do you think that it's appropriate for an 18yr old girl and her 19yr old boyfriend been together for 7 months to go away together for a weekend with 2 of their friends who are also a couple? My parents seem to think that if me and my bf are in a room together with the door shut, we MUST be having sex doing drugs and killing puppies all at the same time or something ridiculous like that How can i convince them that i AM going to save my virginity and that all i want to do is have a nice weekend with the boy i love and a few friends?
How to deal with loneliness as a single parent?
My 5 year old son is with me 24 7. I don't really know anyone with kids. The only interactions I have with people besides work are the neighborhood children that come to play with my son. Their parents are all couples and keep to themselves.
Parents: Can I ask you some questions about a TV series I'm creating?
I'm gearing up to shoot the pilot episode of a TV series I created about Freshmen leaving home to attend college. I'm having a hard time with some tough scenes involving parents and their kids, and I thought I'd come here to see what kinds of views I get. Here's the deal Your 17 year old daughter is on the cheerleader squad, and her high school's team just won Homecoming. She's sitting on the tailgate of a decorated pickup carrying the squad, and another pickup behind it is carrying the football team. They start a victory crawl past the bleachers, celebrating their win, when the truck carrying the cheerleaders stops suddenly. The other truck rear ends it, pinning your daughter's legs between the tailgate and the grill of the other truck. The damage is severe enough that doctors must amputate both her legs. When she wakes up, she doesn't know yet.1. How do you tell her?2. What would you say to each other in the waiting room after the nurses shoo you out?
